Teach with humour and grace

Good students hear about Laozi's way and work hard, but they follow it. Average students hear about it and some remember, some forget. Bad students hear about it and laugh at it.

If it wasn't so hilarious, it wouldn't be Laozi's way, so here are some of the jokes it plays.

Observing it obscures it. Proving it refutes it. Clarifying it confounds it. Praising its power degrades it. Preaching defiles it. Boosting its power depletes it. Celebrating its power demeans it. Believing denies it.

A school with no lessons, a method too subtle to learn, a lecture too faint to hear, a metaphor with no meaning, Laozi's way is a riddle with no answer, and it's only as convincing as it is a good sport.
